Audio-Technica is a proud sponsor of Playing for Change, an organization that works to connect the world through music, with live performances and music videos that feature artists from across the globe. Each year, the organization holds an event called Playing for Change Day, where musicians come together and put on performances all over the world that people can attend and help support the Playing for Change Foundation.
This year, Playing for Change held their annual Playing for Change Day virtually on September 25th. Musicians from all over the world performed live on Facebook and YouTube. From Brazil, to France, to Switzerland, and here in the US, musicians held live events to raise virtual funds for the Playing for Change Foundation.
First held in 2011, the event was created to help support the Playing for Change foundation, which helps provide free music education to children around the world. The Playing for Change Foundation also donates water, food, and other supplies to those in need. Through their efforts, the foundation has helped over 15,000 people worldwide.
This year’s all-digital event allowed the audience to tune into events in real time. Some of the events included a live performance in Spruce and Adorn Coffee shop in Pittsburgh (with an additional 10% of all store sales for the day being donated to the foundation) and a performance by folk singer Guil.
