Question: Are AT-VMN95 replacement styli compatible with AT95 Series cartridges?

Answer: No, they are not. The AT-VMN95 replacement styli are made specifically for the VM95 Series cartridge body. The AT95E (and AT95EX) cartridge bodies are different from the VM95 Series cartridge body and their styli are NOT interchangeable as a result.

As of the time of this writing, there are only two models of styli produced by Audio-Technica that are compatible with the AT95 Series cartridge body. They are the ATN95E and ATN95EX replacement styli. The ATN95EX is identical in shape to the ATN95E but the stylus assembly is burgundy in color. A newly designed radial damping ring (the ring that supports the stylus cantilever) allows the ATN95EX to have improved high-frequency response (out to 22,000 Hz versus 20,000 Hz for the ATN95E) and improved transient response.

Note that a significant advantage of the VM95 Series, which is the updated version of the AT95 Series, is the availability of six different types of interchangeable styli, offering a wide choice for every budget and every application. All VM95 Series cartridges use the same electromagnetic engine body.
