Question: How do I power down my 3000 Series transmitter without opening the unit?
Answer: The 3000 Series Wireless System has long been an industry leader in wireless systems, and for very good reasons. With the recent release of the fourth generation of the product it has received many additional features and changes that make it even better. One of the changes was to move the power switch from outside of the transmitter to inside the unit. This was a request made by many users to guard against accidentally powering down the unit by hitting the switch. Although this was a requested change, some users would still like the ability to power down the unit without opening the transmitter and often ask how to accomplish this. Yes, this is something that can be done by using another enhancement of the fourth-generation 3000 Series wireless system – the charging station.
Many users like or need the ability to use rechargeable batteries with their wireless system. As part of the enhancements to the 3000 Series Fourth-Generation Wireless System, charging terminals were added to the transmitters and a new charging station was introduced, the ATW-CHG3. The ATW-CHG3 is a two-bay charging station for use with 3000 Series (fourth generation) handheld (ATW-T3202) and body-pack (ATW-T3201) transmitters. The station charges NiMH batteries while they are housed within a transmitter. (Please note, there are several configurations of the ATW-CHG3. Please visit the 3000 Series Chargers page for information.)
When a transmitter that is powered on is placed into the ATW-CHG3 it automatically powers down to charge. When the transmitter is removed from the charger it automatically powers back up. Many customers will use the ATW-CHG3 to not only charge the batteries in their transmitters, but also to power off and power on the transmitter. This will give even the most novice user the ability to use the wireless system without having to open the transmitters to power them on or off.
