Question: What are the features of the ATH-M50xSTS StreamSet?

Answer: With streamers and content creators in mind, the ATH-M50xSTS StreamSet™ was designed to be a professional streaming headset that combines the classic sound signature of the ATH-M50x studio headphones and the clarity of a 20 Series microphone. The ATH-M50xSTS utilizes a cardioid condenser element that provides clear and articulate audio, and the flexible boom arm allows for the microphone to be near the mouth to prevent the pickup of background noise from your surroundings. The boom arm can also be used for easy and quick microphone muting by flipping the arm into the up position. The ATH-M50xSTS comes equipped with the same 45 mm drivers that are used in their studio headphone counterpart, however the StreamSet comes with two sets of earpads. One set is the standard pair of earpads found on both the ATH-M50x and ATH-M50xBT2, and the other set features a hybrid mesh and leatherette construction to allow for more breathability and comfort when worn for extended periods.

The ATH-M50xSTS is offered in two different versions: analog and digital. The analog version comes with a 2 m (6.6') permanently attached cable that has an XLR connection for the microphone and an 1/8" plug (with a 1/4" adapter) for the headphones. This version is ideal if you are connecting the headset to an audio interface or mixing board. Since the ATH-M50xSTS has a condenser element for the microphone, you will want to make sure your interface/mixer has the capability of providing phantom power (+48V) to power the element.

The digital version of the ATH-M50xSTS also has a permanently attached cable of the same length, but is terminated with a USB-A connection (and comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter). This version is ideal if you are looking for a plug-and-play option, as you will be able to easily connect this headset to your PC (Windows 10/11) or Mac computer.
